Is AI Art New or Not?

I find it really funny because like, is X or Y and Z art or not art is pretty much a debate that has been happening since art exists? So it's not new. And also, I think it's pretty pointless. I mean, who knows? You know, depends on who you ask. The things that are getting confused here is the novelty of new toy, quote unquote toy, and people that are seeing a potential creatively or professionally being so new. Some people online are already treating AI art as if it was an industry. It's still in very, very early stages.
