The Politics of Abortion

I don't think it's plausible because the extreme right religious base wants an outright ban on abortion and they're not going to stop until they get it. A 15 week ban in practice will ultimately be deeply unpopular and will be an albatross around their neck like any other ban that they're putting in place. There are just multiple stories out of Florida about basically being tortured by the state because of abortion bans that go into effect at 15 weeks. So they can try to describe a 15 week ban as not being extreme and it is less extreme than the six-week ban, for example. But I think the dynamics have shifted in a big way since DOBs.
