A number of Chinese firms are instead spending monies on factories in Southeast Asia. The biggest recipient of Chinese investment so far this year is in Indonesia, where the economy has access to a lot of nickel deposits. U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken says that the rest of the world is eager to see U.S.-China relations improve.
