At Stanford, Hoover becomes one of the really standout members of this first class. He's a little like behind academically but is very good at management and organizing guys. And so when he graduates, he gets escalatingly good jobs doing mining engineering or consulting where he goes in and as this college guy says, here's how you need to run this mine to make it more efficient. The administration really takes a liking to him because they think: This is who we want to put forward as a representative of our school.
