The NHS's Long-Term Workforce Plan

More than 4,000 trainees started GP training in each of the past two years and that's up more than a third from about a decade ago. If places grow again to say 5,000 a year, that would be nearly double the level they were at a decade earlier. More trainees means more trainers are needed. The recovery plan says the government is going to offer four month visa extensions to doctors who come through GP training.
