DOE's Interest in Virtual Power Plants

I think today, we're thinking about something a little bit different for version 1.0, and then we could get into that level of sophistication in version 3 or 4.0. Version 1.0 is really the fact that you have so many devices that are app enabled now. You really can shut off the charging on your car from an app on your phone. And the same thing's true with your Nest thermostat,. The same thing'strue with the battery that you've added to your Solar Plus battery storage. I'm hearing two horns of the argument as to why DOE is newly interested in VPPs here.
