The Rise and Fall of Sky Writing
In 1940 alone, Pepsi alone commissioned 2,000 sky writing projects. The New York Times thought the skies were going to be littered like polluted with ads. That was their main form of advertising from the 30s to the 1950s. But television came in and you could really kind of target and tailor your ad in ways that you couldn't before with radio.
