The music that people accuse Beethoven to make you noise has rewarded so much that people like Stravinsky might love it. There's a book by Slum Manzky called, A Lexicography of Musical Invective. And there's a wonderful jazz band as Phil Strange. You talk about he would play really avant-garde classical pieces for his students. He would read bad reviews of Beethoven and Mozart and Schubert. The kids would say, oh yeah, you're describing this really weird music by stock housing to somebody. But actually, it was somebody who was responsible to Beethoven's first play.
