CHAPTER

The Rise of Campus Rape Culture

In some significant ways we've returned to a time at least in certain circles of pushing an agenda of domesticity and safety onto young women. Women are still seen as fragile victims who need protection often from the most absurd threats. And I think this is really articulated in the little red fairy tale. Red has always been used as a warning to girls don't get out of line but it also shows how by trickery and using her wits she can defeat wolf. There's an unspoken but universally understood curfew on women don't walk alone at nightDon't go to certain places or certain streets don't get drunk. This universal curfew doesn't tend to apply nearly as strongly to men.
