Paris syndrome is a form of culture shock experienced by Japanese tourists who come to Paris. I think it's because the Japanese have a vision of what they think Paris will be like and then when they arrive, it's not the same as that. And also, I think maybe some, I don't, I can't explain why necessarily all Japanese people experience culture shock when they come. It's basically, as you said, a disparity between what they expect and what it's really like.
