Should the Fed Care About Rent and Home Ownership Statistics?
I think increasingly going forward, while we will still focus very heavily on the CPI numbers, we're going to start focusing on the wage numbers. There's no way to declare victory on inflation when wages are at 4 or 5 percent. That also is much higher than the Fed wants to see. I put the economy on solid footing for the first half of next year and I think the Fed is going to have to continue to raise rates past what markets currently anticipate was.
