In South Korea people just take unlimited communications capacity for granted. They never wait they're very impatient as a people and wouldn't stand for a dropped call. China plans to have 80 percent of its homes connected to fiber optic in short order. The entire belt road initiative which involves a lot of trains crossing central Asia is also going to be accompanied by fiber in advanced wireless.
