Progressive Web Apps vs Native Mobile Apps

I predicted that progressive Web apps rather than just being a particular set of APIs would be as a whole, something really significant. And it saddens me to say that this has not happened and it hasn't happened from my perspective for two primary reasons. One reason is that the marketing department really prefers native apps because I've likened a Web apps to like guests on Airbnb on your device. So if you want push notifications from your PWA on iOS, well, you can't get it. Without push notifications, what's the value proposition there? Not much.
