How to Change People's Minds

In politics, we see fear as persuasion. Fear does seem to be working pretty effectively here. But I'm not entirely convinced that it is fear that is causing people to change their behavior. A negative message can get better information than a positive one. If you don't know what you're talking about, saying unexpected things will actually work more effectively.
