Hegel's Theology, Isn't It?
Hegel says stoicism is a position of contemptous Mundi, like a rejection of worldly things. The world is just base and meaningless because the real meaning is this beyond and, and heaven and that,. But it's really fascinating in old, Old English text because you have this smashing of like a pagan tradition in with like England being Christianized. And I think what he identifies with stoicism, that monkish retreat from any action goes further than skepticism.
