I've Seen Some of Arseni Aramov's Films, and It's Really Cool.

There was a kind of weird, artistic, experimental movement in the thirties out of russia. Arseni aramov did some movies where he like hand inked the sound track himself and just like drew light in dark spots, and they made sound as the film went over it. Another russian actually, nikolay voinov, did it with paper. He actually, likt glued opaque pieces of paper to the film stock and ran it through. So it's kind of weird. I hesitate to say alternative universe, early synthesizer version, because it was actually happened in our universe. But i do think it's just absolutely insane that all these developments happened
