The area with the largest REITs in the world is actually an infrastructure, which is not renting to people or humans for human occupation. American Tower and Crown Castle are two of the largest REits in the world. The next type of REIT is Self-Storage REITs. These have grown considerably in the past couple of decades due to the internet.
