The Importance of Gravitational Attraction in the Universe
Black holes are an interesting phenomenon that have accreted to them, sort of a bit of a pun there. They're highly compressed and so the mass is contained in a very much smaller volume than, say, an ordinary star. If you enter past what's called the Schwarzschild radius of a black hole, you won't be able to get out again. You're prevented from escaping essentially because of the massive strength of the gravitational force.
