Jonev: One of my formative stories, that's definitely one that I trot at, was also early in my career at Google. He says he had his imposter syndrome and gave a 45 minute presentation about why we should kill this project because it was not a good use of our time to pursue any further. "I don't give a shit about the numbers," Jonev blurted out after being told by someone more senior than him they needed to be mindful of opportunity costs. The whole room went dead silent; people just didn't want to listen due to ego wrapped up in these things."
