The German Communist Party and the Spanish Civil War

By definition, the German Communist Party is going to be hot wired to the foreign policy goals of the Soviet Union. The only thing that would have stopped them the Germans from taking power through the electoral system was to have a electoral front with the socialist parties. But what they did was neither of those. They sat around and waited to get whacked in the head by the fucking Nazis. It's not their fault. Why shouldn't they orient themselves so towards Moscow? In doing the thing that they thought was going to help them the most tie themselves to a world revolutions headquartered in Moscow, they hamstrung themselves  and made it impossible for them to act in the moment.
