Minds and Mics

CHAPTER

Addiction - An Extreme Version of a Habit

There are major habit components to any problematic, addictive behavior. Even our ordinary habits presumably have some degree of pleasure associated with theman. As i was writing that book, i started thinking about brushing my teeth. Could thats as a mental exercise? Could that be dictive behaviour? And this may not be true for everybody, but i experience a certain degree of pleasure om at least when i'm finished brushing. So if the way i'm describing isn't particularly helpful to somebody,. That doesn't upset me. I've tried to articulate a particular approach that connects edictive behavior and pleasure and habit. If that's meaningful, i hope that people use it.
