Can I Top Up My State Pension When I'm 66?
You can pay to make up for years that do not count towards your pension. But contact the pension service and check that it will actually make a difference. The issue with doing it once you're already of state pension age is the benefit starts now. You'll have missed out a few earlier years of getting an increased pension on the back, so that factors into the calculation. If you've got a decent time to go, if you forget the phrase and the pension service is saying it's right, then it should still be worthwhile for you.
