The Deregulation of Industrial Decision-Making in Australia

The social contract was all about centralising decision-making. But the accord process, it broke that solidarity mechanism. If we win a good pay rise, this has no impact on whether a cleaner in a hospital is going to get a better deal. It's a really bizarre outcome, right, when you think that this was led by the union movement and led by the Labour Party.
