Voters will go to the polls across most of England on Thursday in a general election. The leaders of the parties who mentioned their Kia Starmer, the Labour leader and Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister, will be pouring over the results. There's been some suggestions that the Conservative Party could lose as many as 1,000 seats. John Paul Rathbone: Russia is blaming Ukraine for a drone attack on the Kremlin late Tuesday night. They say it was an assassination attempt on President Vladimir Putin.

The US Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point, Russia accused Ukraine of attempting to assassinate President Vladimir Putin in a late-night drone attack on the Kremlin, and local elections in the UK are a major test for the largest two parties as they prepare for a general election next year.
