The Tartesians and the Phoenicians
Tartesians were almost certainly indigenous rather than being recent arrivals from elsewhere. The arrival of the Phoenicians meant two things: First, that the demand for metals was rising beyond what ongoing mining operations could provide. And second, that their presence on the coast created a need for new, larger, and more sophisticated settlements.
