The Role of Thyroid Storm in the Treatment of Graves' Disease
The most common cause of hyperthyroidism is Graves' disease, an autoimmune condition where there's antibodies that bind to the TSH receptor. Most patients may have initial workup and treatment by their primary care doctors or general medicine teams, but typically are referred to endocrinology for further work up and treatment.
