Mason's trip to Afghanistan was cut short because of a dispute between the US and Afghan governments. He also missed out on visiting Bagram air base, which is where he saw his brother murdered by American troops. Mason says that despite being in afghanistan for two weeks, he never wanted to set foot in deby again. But when he ran out of money it became impossible to get back home.
