Introduction

Dr. Richard Nisbet is one of the world's most accomplished social psychologists. In 1982, he went to China to give lectures at Beijing University. He found a completely different understanding of the relationship between the individual and society. Other East Asians see the world holistically; we don't try to be terribly logical about things.
