CHAPTER

How to Reduce Bone Stress Injuries

Hamish: What sort of volume would we need to be running to start thinking, am I potentially getting a bone stress injury? Can it happen to the person running two, five kilometres a week, or do they have to be building up to a sort of high volume to be concerned about this type of injury? Hamish: There is no known recipe workload. You've got to consider the health of the skeleton of the individual. If you're increasing intensity, you may need to pull back on some of the volume.
