The Vocab Man - Fluent Vocabulary

CHAPTER

How to Lift Your Spirits

To lift one's spirits means to make one feel happier or more carefree. To lift somebody's spirits, it pretty much means to cheer someone up. When I don't feel very happy, I lift my spirits by cooking something and eating something I really like. And speaking about food, my hearty risotto with succulent sausages, fresh fennel, red wine and hazelnuts will lift your spirits to the snow top mountains. The beauty of having a gratitude journal is that if you are having a bad day, guess what? You can take a look at some past gratitude to lift your spirits up.
