I think if you're going to work with a coach and you work with an experienced professional you shouldn't be afraid of really picking up that intensity. My mum is in her mid 60s and she's just this year started to do a load of strength and conditioning and it's specifically weight lifting. I've never seen such good improvements for someone so old.
