James Fitzgerald is a U.S. Army vet who received the Purple Heart for his injuries sustained during combat in Afghanistan while serving with the 101st Airborne Division. He says he's swapped road trips for long subway rides, less navigation and his preferred soundtrack these days are hits from the late 80s and early 90s. Our next story takes us on a hike with Amber Jo Hat. She told this at a Portland Grand Slam, where we partner with Oregon Public Broadcasting.
