The Crusades and the Inquisition
Even today, the inquisition and indeed crusades are always held up as examples of the savagery and the brutality of which religion is capable. They wholly lacked the framing that Christianity had provided,. Even as they are driven by deeply Christian kind of motives... to bring a secular equivalent of New Jerusalem to birth on earth.
