Freud's insights were so profound that they got immediately absorbed into our culture, and now they seem self evident. He was certainly the first person who brought up the idea of the unconscious in in a rigorous manner. Young was profoundly affected by nicha and by freud. Those were his two main intellectual influences. I don't think one more than the other....
