Is There a Modern Version of Convertibility?
There is no 18 73, nine countries were on the gold standard. Silver was demonitized in germany, us, sweden, norway, the netherlands, japan and the latin monetary union by 18 70. Between 18 11 and 18 80, silver production did increase. But between 18 11 and ighteen 80, even though silver production increased fivefold, gold actually gold production increased much faster than silver during that period.
