Ron DeSantis has not formally announced his candidacy for governor of Florida, but he is expected to do so soon. In a recent op-ed piece in the Tampa Bay Times, John Avlon argued that it would be risky for him to play out the entirety of the Florida legislature and then turn his attention to D.C. He said if you go too hard on Trump, there's too many Trump fans who will vote against you.Avlon: I don't want a Republican party to be a losing party. And I suspect that the person who is going to do it will be desantis.
