The Evolution of Human Beings
There's some wonderful work by a roboticist called Hoblipson and he was designing a robot that had a period to begin with where it just kind of messed around. It turned out that the advantage of that period of play was that then if you cut off the robot's leg, it could figure out how to walk even without the leg. That's what we human beings are better at doing than anything else. The younger we are generally, and you know, bell curve wise, that's easier. And then we get older and we don't test, adjust, test,adjust anymore. We just come up with an idea and we stick with it.
