When it was trending in 2020, you had people like Bernie Sanders support bail reform. But to see the same media outlets do a right turn makes me very cynical. It could be part of a broader political calculation from people within that media world. You have to reconcile your progressive self-image and self-branding with supporting sending more people to jail.
