Katie was always the one with the power. Adam believed that his drinking and his use of Adarol was a huge factor in their fights. The affair changed it all. It seemed that no matter what Katie did, it didn't matter anymore. They were both guilty of saying mean things that weren't okay but they just have to persevere. And it worked for a while. But then another dramatic fight would occur and they would stop talking for a while,. And it was just one step forward, two steps back. I think the way that it played out was also very gross.
