Our Union Is a Leviathan

In 17 76, most of the people living in the colonies were themselves depr ved of the very god given rights enumerated in our national charter. This tension between order and liberty animates a lot of our nation's history. Our union is never perfect, but over time it has become more perfect. We are now a global power. Our sprawling bureaucracies promise in many ways, to protect us from ourselves. Not all of these changes are for the worse.
