What Is Obscenity?
Art teaches some thig t tee something different than philosophy and history. And the point is to present life truthfully, without deny ying or obscuring the fact that part of life is the moral universe. It's how it enriches your ability to make your own judgments, even if it doesn't condemn the characters. A lot of the best art till it shows you the worst kinds of characters a, without condemning them,. Just shows them to you, and you yourself are then able, through kind of grasping and under anding them, to understand why it is that you would condemn such a thing.
