In august 19 91, there was an attempted coup as communist hard liners sought to re establish the dominance of soviet rule in russia and its satellite states. The kou attempt collapsed after just three days, and it eventually led to the collapse of communism in the soviet union. Following this, former soviet states declared their independence, which radically reshaped the world that we live in to day.
