The Bosses of the Chapel
The amount of workmanship in it and the amount of heraldry up there you know it's telling a story all of its own isn't it. The badges are called bosses and they look decorative but they're actually functional because they're holding the joints in the stonework together. When visitors come and they look at the great west window there's all sorts of figures there that they could see through the stained glass so an ordinary working man is commemorated there as well. It's interesting then that we've got Gil Burtis with the door at one end and the man who finished the window putting himself in it the other end of the day and tracilian doing some of the decorations
