The Theater of Eternal Music by Lamont Young
Lamont Young and his wife Marion were part of this loose collective called the Theater of Eternal Music. John Kale formed a subgroup called the Dream Syndicate with another musician named Tony Conrad, who would eventually be in the primitives with Lou Reed. They spent hours learning sustained, meditative chants and more importantly for John Kale's future musical accomplishments, drones. The group was enormously important when it came to what Kale later did with the Velvet Underground.
