Aquinas's Pleasures
Aquinas: Pleasure is not opposed to happiness. The trick is figuring out what the right pleasures are and aiming at the good, then you will see that you get the pleasure as a result. We have this experience that can produce a kind of real interior pain because we are divided in ourselves. Our minds will tell us what we know is right and we still want what we know we shouldn't do. It's getting that dynamic under control so that we actually begin to live the way our minds should be living.
