The habit piece is what I think allows for the mindful practice that you're talking about, because your brain is not scrambling in 6,000 directions. You're able to slide into that flow state much more easily. It doesn't always happen. That's why some days suck. But if you have that slot of time available, and you are not going to punish yourself for not achieving some random number of words or whatever then you're going to get much more done.
