The Molasses Flood

The tank was built in 1915 so it only existed on the Boston waterfront for about four years. It is enormous holding millions of gallons of molasses Which is just remarkable to think of in any instance, but after the tanks rapid construction. The day before the disaster they took a huge delivery of molasses brought in from the Caribbean and that caused the liquid in the tank to start becoming thinner and more liquid less viscous or sticky like a cold molasses would be.
