Fichta and Kant - The Transcendental Ego
The self is an activity for ficta not a being, not a substance. The transcendental ego is what kant was talking about and fichto really amplifies it. And there's a necessity for an ethical community that would allow each of us to become self conscious - but we cand only do so by being recognized by other conscious selves.
