The problem is, how do we get out of a distortion? And there is no easy answer to that. Once you are using a language, you seem to be tracped in it. What you do is you give into guage at any one time,. and then you use it to investigate nature to the fullest. By concentrating, you get certain facts which we admire science for extracting.
