The Importance of Mercy in Socialism
If we create a law enforcement system that solely operates on the concept of mercy, then to what end is that justice being served? The answer is it's not. People may be thankful for the mercy that they receive, but they never owe it because if you owed it, if you were deserved mercy, then it would be called justice. Peace and mercy are dependent systems. And societies which decide to throw out the concept of justice because they don't have the spine to uphold it cannot stand.
